At All You Need HQ we have wracked our brains for the top 5 tips for a stress-free (or maybe we should say ‘stress-reduced’ festive time.)
Tip 1 – Remember what it is really about
People view Christmas in different ways – but however you see it – keep in mind the best of it. Christmas might be about having time with close family and friends, resting, feasting, presents or as some see it – Christmas literally means ‘the mass of Christ’.
The great yogi, Paramahansa Yogananda, said the true message of Christmas is about the awakening of the Christ Consciousness (infinite love, joy & peace) within each of us. Who doesn’t want that? This is not about religion, it is about who we really are.
Focusing on the joy within helps us to rise above the crass materialism, challenging relatives, and harsh inequalities in the world that is so present externally.
Tip 2 – Take time to chill out, relax and meditate.
Christmas falls a few days after the winter solstice, which is when we emerge from the darkest time of the year at the shortest day, and the sun (or as many traditions say, the ‘Son’) is reborn. Make sure you are following the natural rhythms of life and rest, recharge and rejuvenate. On the 23rd December an all-day meditation is held around the world, where you can really tune-in to the true meaning of Christmas – by stilling the mind and going within – where the real treasure lies.
Tip 3 – Eat well.
It will come as no surprise that we are promoting that you eat well over the Christmas period. Good food and adequate hydration will help our body and mind stay focused, and as Donald Trump says (yes, we are really quoted the Donald in an AYN newsletter!) ‘stress happens when you are not focused’.
Make sure you enjoy your All You Need supercharged with nutrients to help this – magnesium, ‘the relaxing mineral’, Vitamin D & C for immunity, Vitamin B12 for brain & nerve function and adaptogens to help you cope with what Christmas may throw at you.
Don’t forget to check out our awesome recipes page on our website and social media for so many recipes. We featured some great ones in last week’s newsletter if you missed it.
Tip 4 – Listen to good music
Music can help create such a positive atmosphere, so play some great music over Christmas to help you and your guests settle into a positive mood. If the Christmas hits are doing your head in – we find some relaxing classical music, or sacred chants, ideally tuned to 432htz, and played quietly in the background is a great way to do this.
Some members of the AYN team have been part of the band Peace On Your Plate and for the last 4 years have been working on an album, ‘The Forest Garden’ – and it has just been released in time for Christmas! It is available to buy on CD and download/stream now. Tip 5 – Be grateful for the precious gift of life
Christmas is a time to celebrate but also to remember those that have gone before us. Yes, the relatives might be challenging at time – but be grateful for them, smile and know that this moment is all we have – so embrace it with joy and gratitude.
At All You Need we would like to express our sincere gratitude to YOU for supporting us throughout this year.
